Cierpka's works depict colorful scenes with figurative elements presented in an abstract manner. Through the use of color, he creates dazzling moments that unfold before the viewer's eyes. The artist tries to capture the essence of fleeting moments, such as when one is lying in a meadow, with a forest clearing nearby and only slightly opening one's eyes to sense the moment. His works are characterized by a play of sunlight and colors that seem to merge together and penetrate through branches and leaves.
Cierpka's works invite the viewer to immerse themselves in an experience that is detached from space and time. There is no up and down, time seems to stand still, space does not exist. Through the use of color, the artist creates scenes that cannot be repeated in their original form. His work focuses on dazzling moments that unfold before the viewer's eyes.
Cierpka has had several solo exhibitions, including "Neue Sterne Sehen" and "JETZTzeit" at Lachenmann Art in Konstanz. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including "+1", "Intersection" and "Comfy with Sonic Speed" at Lachenmann Art as well as "Backstage", "THE WORKS" and "#30".
The artist Patrick Cierpka was born in Giengen in 1967 and now lives in Berlin. He studied visual communication at the Pforzheim University and completed a master's degree in painting under Karl Horst Hödicke at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2003, Cierpka was awarded the Hans Helmut Baur Prize by the Heidenheim Art Museum.
