Finnish artist Jukka Rusanen dedicates his work to the intensive exploration of art and painting, questioning what meaning art can still hold in our present day – and what effect it has on us. In an era where images are ubiquitous but often fleeting and superficial, he reminds us that art is more than mere representation: it creates connections – between past and present, between artist and viewer, and ultimately between ourselves and our own feelings.

When viewing his paintings, one senses a delicate balance between lightness and depth, between attraction and distance. The beauty of his works always carries within it the idea of transience. The brushstrokes seem to float in space – open, ambiguous, almost ethereal.

It seems as if Jukka Rusanen is following an echo from art history—a faint reverberation that continues to resonate across time. His paintings are not mere representations, but sensual experiences. In a world characterized by speed, information overload, and constant judgment, they offer a moment of calm and attentiveness. They invite us to engage with the ineffable—not to explain it, but to feel it.

Jukka Rusanen's works make it clear that great art is not a relic of bygone eras, but a living dialogue about beauty, transience, perception, and humanity itself.

His paintings show that every brushstroke is also a conversation with history. It's as if the artist picks up old gestures, holds them for a moment – and then lets them flow again in a new form and meaning.
