Catalogue for the solo exhibition of the artist Lars Teichmann ›Total Museum‹, which took place from May 9 to July 10, 2020 at the Lachenmann Art Gallery in Frankfurt. Texts by Amely Deiss and the Lachenmann Art Team.
In the solo exhibition ›Total Museum‹, the Lachenmann Art gallery showed a series of works by Lars Teichmann that dealt with the theme of large-format still lifes. The previously unpublished works impressed not only with their physical dimensions but also with their unique depth of color, composition and painterly concealment.
A still life is something that has happened, a fixed point of a fluctuating moment. It tells a lot more than the objects depicted in it. The memory of a celebration, a gathering, a lived connection. - The events that surround the objects. All things that are currently only possible with restrictions. In view of these new global social changes, Teichmann is transforming the still life into a contemporary force and omnipresent presence. He invited us to immerse ourselves in these oversized works and celebrate an inner celebration with everything that was familiar to us.
