Agnes Lammert's free-hanging sculptures symbolise the heaviness of a dystopia, transience and the lightness that follows. The artist succeeds in this with the work "Schwere", a fictitiously light, permeable fabric that caresses the forms of a body. The free-hanging sculpture, which is in constant, gentle motion, triggers curiosity and fascination in the viewer. Agnes Lammert, too, knows how to let the ambivalence immanent in Kazé between the nature of the material and its effect flow into her works. The temperature sensitivity of the material wax confirms it as a transient, fragile artefact of a short-lived period of time. The interplay of apparent heaviness and supposed lightness, in their mutual conditionality and contradictoriness, points to an uncertain future that can be questioned with the exhibition. What is occupied, what remains and what will pass away?
