Collection: Yvonne Andreini

The artist Yvonne Andreini was born in Rome in 1985. She studied fine arts with a focus on drawing at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee with Professor Hanns Schimansky. In 2008 she won the DAAD prize for the best foreign student at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee. She founded the project space LYNAR 4 for drawing, painting, installation, sculpture, music and sound art, which existed until 2008. In 2010 she became a master student of Hanns Schimansky. Andreini organized and participated in numerous exhibitions, including the exhibition "Everybody learns from Disaster" at Villa Elisabeth in Berlin. Since 2013 she has been working as a freelancer at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In 2015 she founded the project space "piano alto" in Berlin, a space for art, music and cooking. She lives and works in Berlin.

In 2017 Andreini founded the festival for contemporary art IN/SU/LA, within the framework of which she has also established a residency program since 2018. The residency program takes place in the "Fattoria Le Masse" near Florence and on the island of Ventotene. In 2022 she collaborated with the Off-Off Theater in Rome and exhibited her work in the theater's spaces. This project is repeated every two years.

Andreini's art is characterized by nebulous formations that emerge from the depths of the picture and develop into linear ciphers of green and black lines and curves. A mixture of drawing and painting, her works often explore the relationship between man, his thoughts and the landscape. Her works have been described as mysterious, suggestive, and abstract, and they often depict symbols, lines, and objects merging into one another. Overall, Yvonne Andreini's works explore the timeless nature of human existence and the passage of time through a unique blend of drawing and painting.
