Collection: Sascha Boldt

The multi-conceptual artist Sascha Boldt experiments with the possibilities of "making art", always with the question of a definition of art. In his multi-conceptual works he playfully reveals his self-reflection as an artist.

He describes his works as hybrid constructions - they give us insights into Boldt's artistic experience of the world. You can look at one of his more recent works on the opposite wall and notice at first glance that it processes moments from pop culture and everyday life.

His works have pop reminiscences and are characterized by their wealth of detail, whose "ordered disorder" creates an interesting composition. Sascha Boldt takes the viewer into an imaginative, nonsense collection of objects from our consumer world, all with a lot of humor.

Clearly recognizable symbols from our media culture mix with, and sometimes directly contradict, the message the artist wants us to think about.

Sascha Boldt studied under Albert Oehlen and Markus Lüpertz at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf from 1995 – 2001.

Today Sascha lives and works in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin.
