Collection: Sascha Boldt

The multi-conceptual artist Sascha Boldt experiments with the possibilities of "making art," constantly grappling with the question of defining art. In his multi-conceptual works, he playfully reveals his self-reflection as an artist.

He describes his works as hybrid constructions – they offer us insights into Boldt's artistic experience of the world. One of his more recent works can be viewed on the opposite wall, and you will immediately recognize that it incorporates moments from pop culture and everyday life.

His works have pop culture influences and are characterized by their wealth of detail, whose "ordered disorder" creates an interesting composition. Sascha Boldt takes the viewer into an imaginative, nonsensical collection of objects from our consumer world, all with a great deal of humor.

Clearly recognizable symbols from our media culture blend with the message that the artist wants to make us think, and sometimes stand in direct contrast to it.

Sascha Boldt studied under Albert Oehlen and Markus Lüpertz at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1995 to 2001.

Today Sascha lives and works in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin.
