Zohar Fraiman grew up in a religious family in the community of Hashmonaiim in Israel. She began her studies in painting in 2003 at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. From 2005 to 2009 she was in the master class at the private Jerusalem Studio School in Israel. From 2011 she studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she graduated as a master student under Burkhard Held from 2013 to 2015.
Zohar Fraiman paints figuratively in oil. Her art is influenced by Judaism, focusing on the female aspects of religious and social ceremonies. In other groups of works, she processed themes of Jewish folk belief, such as the legend of the dybbuk. On her initiative, a joint exhibition was created with nine Jewish, Christian and Muslim artists, which was shown in Berlin and Jerusalem in 2012. The theme was artistic positions on religion, tradition and taboo. In their works, the artists dealt with the ambivalences of their religious feelings.
