The ›Artefact #12‹ is part of a series of individual small light objects created by the Dutch artist Peter Vink for the exhibition ›Constantia‹. Each artefact is a representation of a single light stone taken from the light installation ›Porta de Constantia‹, which was realized in 2024.

Peter Vink's works are a reflection on the relationship between light and space. He uses light to change the physical nature of spaces, creating immersive installations that transport the viewer to another world. His sculptures and installations are designed to respond to the space they are in, creating a sense of movement and change.

An example of Peter Vink's work is his installation "Infinity", which he created in 2009 for the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. This installation consists of a repeating pattern of prisms aimed at a wall and reflecting light. By reflecting the light, the prisms create an infinite, moving pattern that captivates the viewer.

Another work Vink has created is his light installation "Waves", which can be seen in the city of Rijswijk. This installation consists of a series of light elements installed on the two sides of a bridge. The light elements create a moving pattern that invites the viewer to cross the bridge and experience the experience from different perspectives.

Overall, Peter Vink's works are characterized by a subtle balance between light, space and movement. They create a unique atmosphere that invites the viewer to embark on a journey through space and time.
