"In his series 'Flowervases,' perfectly arranged flower vases are shot through with steel balls and captured at the moment of their destruction. Struck by projectiles, glass vases, ceramic and earthenware vessels shatter and collapse. [...] The contrast between static nature and extreme dynamism shatters the cliché of the 'flower vase' subject. The parallel existence of two states and the unreal stillness of the images captivate the viewer."
Martin Klimas, born in Singen am Bodensee, studied photography at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences from 1992 to 1998. Since 2000, he has been presenting his work both nationally and internationally.
