Miriam Vlaming beschäftigt sich mit dem Geheimnis dessen, was wir wahrnehmen und glauben, bereits zu wissen, und verwendet dabei zweideutige Metaphern. Ungeklärte Fragen lassen sowohl der Künstlerin als auch den Rezipienten ihrer Bilder Raum, ihre eigenen Geschichten zu spinnen. Bilder, die immer wieder das Menschliche, das Vertraute, das Existenzielle in den Mittelpunkt stellen. Miriam Vlaming studierte Malerei und Grafik an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig und schloss ihr Studium in der Meisterklasse von Prof. Arno Rink ab. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.

Miriam Vlaming deals with the mystery of what we perceive and believe we already know while using ambiguous metaphors. Unresolved questions leave room for the artist as well as the recipients of her pictures to spin their own stories. Pictures that focus on the human, the familiar, the existential again and again. Miriam Vlaming studied painting and graphics at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig and graduated from the master class of Prof. Arno Rink. She lives and works in Berlin.
